Our congregation is a vibrant, caring and loving group supportive of our members while mindful of those less fortunate. Outreach has been a part of our parish life ever since the first collection was sent to The Montreal General Hospital. The parish has always donated generously to disaster requests through the PWRDF.
Over the years we have provided assistance for projects in Africa, Venezuela and the Canadian North. At home we collect men & women’s clothing & toiletries in a big red barrel for St. Michael’s Mission in downtown Montreal. At Christmas time, parishioners decorate a tree with much needed clothing and toiletries for the clients at the Mission.
Mindful of our blessings we provide ongoing support a local food bank with non-perishable food items as well as providing gift certificates for needy families in the community at Christmas. We enjoy social affairs, such as potluck suppers and bird watching in the spring.
Like many Anglican parishes and indeed most other denominations, we are faced with an aging population. Nevertheless, we continue to grow, be it ever so slowly. In an attempt to be better stewards of the environment and to help us in controlling heating costs, we are currently having a geothermal heating system installed to replace our oil furnaces.
