St. George's Anglican Church in Granby dates from 1843. The original wooden structure was replaced by the present red brick ediface in 1908. Built in the Collegiate-Gothic style of the old English Universities, a striking feature is the perfect Gothic tower which rises 66 feet to the top of the battlements. The addition of carillonic bells was made to the tower in 1950. The Church contains many historical monuments. A 12th century ornament on the cover of the font was given by All Saint's Church of Granby, Nottingham, England. A missionary cross depicting the progress of Christianity from earliest times is made with actual stones from Jerusalem, Gethsemane, Constantinople, Rome, Canterbury, Iona, Armaugh, Edinburough, and other centers of Christian worship. The colours of the Shefford Regiment, which was raised to fight in the Boer War, found a home at St. George's when the regiment was disbanded in 1916.
Worship is held every Sunday morning at 11:00 am, with the exception of the month of August when the congregation worships jointly with Granby United Church, located nearby.
