The Anglican Church of Canada
Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec, Canada
St George's is an active, caring Anglican community, welcoming diversity and supporting and encouraging people to grow in Christ, to become faithful stewards of God's gifts and to live out a joyful sharing of God's love with each other and the world.

Cedric….You will be missed!
Cedric Cobb, the Incumbent at St. George's, Ste. Anne de Bellevue for the past 11 years, retired on his 65th birthday, and his Farewell Party was one that his congregation and gathered friends will always remember.

Following a Eucharist on Sunday, February 24th, the Church Hall was filled to the brim with well-wishers and representatives from all his previous parishes.

Friends from St. Matthias, in Westmount, where Cedric served as a curate, from Trinity Church, Ste. Agathe, where he served as Incumbent, from St. Peter's TMR, where he served prior to being called to St. George's, all arrived with messages and gifts to provide him with reminders of the love and compassion he carried into all his church communities.

A parishioner from St. George's wrote new words to the tune of
"My Favourite Things" from the Sound of Music, and everyone sang,
"Welcoming, friendly, so warm and so gentle.
Joyful and loving and so
sentimental.
Long lovely hugs when the service is through
are some of the
reasons that we so love you!"

Five verses and three choruses summarized the reasons why both Cedric, and his wife Diana, will be missed at St. George's. Following tributes from all ages in the congregation, Cedric was presented with five albums of messages and photos from those whose lives he has touched.

A generous purse was also presented and parishioners hope this gift will encourage Cedric and Diana to plan a trip that they have long dreamed of taking. All who have known the Cobbs wish them a retirement filled with God's blessings, good health and new adventures.

Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself on the journey of faith, you are welcome here! St. George's identifies itself as an "open church." By this we mean that all persons are welcome to come and be a part of this community wherever they are in the spiritual journey. We seek to be a safe place for skeptics and doubters as well as for believers.
