The Anglican Parish of St Andrew

Events in the Life of the Parish

The Parish of Lachute was renamed the Parish of St Andrew, March 31, 1999. This was done as a link to the past, in line with the original Letters Patent that created the parish. See also the Bishop's decree making the change.

We participate in an ecumenical Sunday School in partnership with Margaret Rodger Presbyterian Church. Beginning November 2, 1997, Sunday School is held during service times at one or other of the two churches, in rotation month by month. Margaret Rodger's is just three doors away from us on the Main Street of Lachute.

On Remembrance Day, 1996, we lit a Peace Candle as a sign of our commitment to peace in the world.

In November, 1996, we enjoyed a visit from Velma Foreman, a missionary in Papua-New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Velma has just published her second New Testament, this one in the Yawu language.
